Breaded Fish & Chips.
Breaded Fish & ChipsFish is a standard Friday evening meal in our house, but not bought from the chip shop! The fish is frozen breaded fish bought from either Sainsburys or Aldi. The chips are McCain’s “Naked Oven Chips” from the same supermarkets and a typical serving is 150g whilst still frozen. An 80 gram serving of frozen garden peas completes the main course and the whole meal takes just over 15 minutes to prepare and serve.
Ingredients
- Frozen Breaded Fish

Cooking Guidlines
Cooked in Air Fryer. I use the NINJA Foodi Dual Zone AF300UK Air Fryer and do the fish in one basket at 200C for 12 minutes from frozen and the chips in the other basket, also at 200C for 15 minutes. The sync function in this air fryer means that both foods are cooked and ready at the same time. Meanwhile the peas are put in a suitable microwave safe bowl, covered with water and microwaved for 3 minutes near the end of the cooking time.
Cooked in conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 220°C, Fan 200°C, Gas Mark 8. Spread a single layer of chips onto a baking tray and pop it in the top of the oven. Place the fish on a baking tray in the middle of the oven. Bake for 20 minures, turning over the chips and the fish after about 10 minutes. If you think that either the fish or the chips are in danger of over cooking, remove its tray from their current position in the oven and place them at the bottom until the other is cooked, although they will both usually be cooked at the end of the stated times Peas Microwaved as above. The above cooking times may have to be adjusted to suit your oven or air fryer, or to suit your taste. so be prepared to experiment with these guidelines, but any changes should be minor.
